A South Carolina man has been arrested for selling illegal drugs and misusing prescription drugs in N. Y.
Talia Buechea-Lopez was arrested by New York prosecutors in a case that is being prosecuted by a New York federal judge.
Buechea-Lopez, 41, was charged with conspiracy and with selling prescription drugs, including erectile dysfunction drugs, under the false drug name laws, under state charges. She was also charged with misbranding the drugs, under state charges.
The federal judge in N. ordered Buechea-Lopez released on $500,000 bond, and she was scheduled to appear in court in New York City on October 5 for a sentencing hearing.
The case was initially filed in the U. S. District Court for the Western District of New York, where she has been charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of selling prescription drugs, and one count of misbranding prescription drugs under state charges.
Buechea-Lopez was arrested by New York prosecutors in New York State on October 1 for allegedly selling prescription drugs to a man, who then had sex with the man and then sold the drugs to another person, also known as a pharmacist.
The U. Food and Drug Administration approved the drug name and the drug name, Buechea-Lopez said in court papers, but she is not certain if the pharmacy was actually responsible for the sale of the drugs.
The charges were filed under federal and state charges. Buechea-Lopez said she was not aware of any evidence she had to show she bought the drugs.
She was not arrested.
She said she has no comment.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David T. Cushnick.
